Hi I am Robert Teare, I am a Room Lead at AS-UK and as such work with the supervisors implementing the personal intervention plans which they create for each of our children.
As a room lead I provide support and continued training for assistant room leads and parents who are working 1:1 with the children. I provide the structure to the day and make it as fun as possible, which is easy really as I am just a big kid at heart.
I am Student Psychologist studying towards a BSc Hons Degree in Psychology. I have over five years’ progressive and extensive experience working with children and young adults who suffer from a range of problems including ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), mental health, emotional difficulties, challenging behaviours and learning difficulties. Both my brothers in law have learning difficulties and ASD and I have been a respite carer for them, helping with all aspects of their lives. For the last three years I have also been a foster parent for By the Bridge Cambian. Supporting young people with personal development, challenging behaviours and mental health issues.
This will be my 4th cohort with the AS-UK team, I started as a volunteer tutor and absolutely loved it. I was honoured to be asked back as a Room Lead on the last cohort and could not wait to get started. Being involved in this amazing organisation which provides families with support and an opportunity to experience the benefits of ABA is truly rewarding. Seeing the results, and the positive changes throughout the cohort really drives you on, when you get told that your children cant wait to come back next week melts your heart.
