Hi I'm Chrissy,
I'm a mum to a young daughter with ASC. She was formally diagnosed at aged 4 though it had become obvious she has started to display signs of autism from around 2 years old. I stumbled across ABA in a frantic effort to find some support and a method of engaging my daughter with the world around her. I was just in the process of starting to get together an ABA programme when I heard about AS-UK. We attended both cohorts one and two and not only were they wonderful for my daughter but also a lifeline for me; a family of other parents who 'get it' and support and care alongside a dedicated and professional team doing everything they can to support young children and their parents.
I'm delighted to be able to offer some support back to such a wonderful organisation and volunteer some of my skills and experience to help keep things going behind the scenes. It really does take a village to raise a child and it takes a very special village to help raise a child with ASC and that's just what I've found at AS-UK.
