Heather Taylor

My role at ASUK is a Room Leader, I will be there to support and guide my team of volunteer s and support my children in my room. I will be planning weekly lessons with different activities for the children, ranging from arts and crafts, turn taking, pretend play and active play!

I was a Room Lead previously and I loved the experience of an ABA school, meeting lots of new ambitious volunteers and wonderful families. Also, seeing the progress that can be made in 12 weeks, is truly inspiring!

I have been an ABA therapist for 4 years, I have experience with a range of ages from 2-13 years, including children who are verbal and non-verbal, supporting children in their homes, nurseries and even integrating children into mainstream schools. I am an enthusiastic and positive therapist, I love my job and I'm proud to say it.

Before I became an ABA therapist, I was a support worker in the community, with children autism and other disabilities, providing respite for families and carers. I have always been keen to help and support others.

I’m really looking forward to the experience this cohort will bring as every week is different! I am excited to meet the volunteers I will be training and super excited to meet and support 30 new children.
