Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer behavioural tutor with Autism Support UK.

We would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete this short application (Please fully complete all the questions) ***Volunteering can lead to paid work with families attending the club for those that want a career in ABA Therapy.

Our ABA Saturday School is located in Bolton

We are looking for volunteer candidates to be trained up in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Positive Behaviour support, Autism, Behaviour management and the science of behaviour change working 1:1 with children with an Autism Spectrum Condition.

The positions are on Saturdays over a 12 week period. You will be trained via training days and on the job coaching by Behavioural supervisors. We provide a minimum of 60 hours for work placement modules for university students. All trainee volunteer tutors that stay the full term will receive a certificate of participation & attendance.

You will be working alongside other volunteers and help to support 30 children with Autism ranging between ages 2yrs old to 11 years old. This will provide you with a rich understanding of the Autism Spectrum. Your experience will include data collection.

Perfect for anyone who has experience working with children in the childcare sector or Psychology students/ graduates who want to build upon their skills and put their psychological theory into real life work & also get some clinical experience.

Many of our volunteers have the opportunity to get paid work through volunteering at ‘Autism Support UK’ as an ABA therapist with families in schools & on home programmes, a great way to carve out a career in the psychology field.

We are also looking for volunteer experienced tutors to work as lead therapists (this will be great training for those who are tutors and wish to get more experience in training other tutors and taking more of a lead role) Also we are looking for Volunteer supervisors or BCBA's who wish to give some of their time per month to help out at our ABA Saturday School.

Please supply your contact information

The Applied Behaviour Analysis training that we provide is given under the understanding you attend and complete the full 12 weeks as a volunteer tutor (12 Saturdays in total at the school) plus any training days or team building days.

Failure to attend the Saturday club will result in you not receiving your certificate or any further job opportunities through Autism Support UK or any recommendations or references.
Therefore, by answering yes to this question you are confirming you are fully committed to a 12week block to support a child with Autism as if you do not attend your assigned child will be left with no support.

This question is for Parents only that are paying for their child to attend Saturday school at the same time as volunteering:

We are very happy to have parents volunteer, If you are a Parent of a child attending the Saturday club another family member/friend will need to attend with your child at Saturday Club, as a volunteer you will be unavailable from 9-3.30pm

Please make sure you can be fully committed before volunteering. Do you agree to the commitment involved and arranging alternative care for your child at Saturday club for 12 weeks and the training and interview dates?

Thank you so much for submitting your application and your interest in joining the ASUK family.
